An airline with a sense of humor...
We just learned that it is super-important to be fresh and new when designing things. It is a good thing to stand out from the rest, and that is what I strive for when I brainstorm ideas. Here are some pictures of an airline company that had the same idea. They wanted customers to know they had a sense of humor and that customers were special to them, not just another set of passengers. I thought this was hilarious, and a great example of the modernist ideas we just learned about, too!

A rare concept car and a great design achievement.
This is a really interesting design achievement. Someone at Chevrolet designed a car with car body parts spanning across three vehicles of the late 50's. It is called the Chevrolet 789. It has the front of a 1957 Chevy, the side of a '58, and the back of a '59. I don't think they released this car to the public, and if they did, not very many were made. I thought it was a pretty cool idea and that it turned out awesome.

Funny Bus Ads
I got these pictures in an email, and I thought they were pretty clever. Designers have designed funny yet meaningful ads on the sides of buses around the world. They are very unique, but they may actually get the message across!
- Hope you enjoyed!

Ok, so this may look bad, but its really a good example! Graphic design is all around us. It's amazing that design is everywhere, even on things we use everyday and don't think much about. Take this cup, for example. If you really take time to examine it, a lot of work went into it. The colors are bright and bold for summer, and a happy mood. The green is really a good shade for getting the "fresh food" idea across. If this cup was just black or white, or even solid red or yellow, it would not give the same message as this one does.

I saw this car on the interstate a while back, and thought it was pretty funny. The designer really thought outside the box when he created this ad. And that is one thing that I believe is very important when it comes to design: being creative. If you're creative and unique, you're work will stand out and catch people's attention, just like this car. People will remember you a lot better, and recognize it from a crowd. And that is important when competing in today's world.
